Thomas Rimes is an Australian musician who has been based in Germany for the past ten years. In recent years he has worked throughout Europe, the United States, China and Australia as an operatic and symphonic conductor and as a composer/arranger of numerous stage works. He currently works at the Musiktheater im Revier as second Kapellmeister. Thomas is currently writing the musical "O.T.O" based on Shakespeare's Othello.
In the 2018-19 opera season Thomas will conduct Verdi's "Nabucco", Tschaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin", Weill's "The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny" and the World Premiere Production of the Steam-Punk Opera "Klein Zaches, genannt Zinnober" - a work that he composed alongside the Berlin-based band Coppelius. Other recent productions that he has conducted include Puccini's "Tosca", Donizetti's "L'elisir d'amore", Britten's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "The Turn of the Screw", Bellini's "Norma" and Offenbach's Les contes d'Hoffmann.
